I thought it was a financial mistake.

A missed opportunity.
A door slammed shut right when we needed it most.

The refinancing fell through… and with it, what I thought was our way out.

At the time, it honestly felt like God had gone quiet.

Like we had been overlooked again.

But what I couldn’t see in that moment—what I never could have predicted—was that this one “no” would quietly set off a chain of events that led our family somewhere I had dreamed about… and then completely given up on.

Not adjusted.
Not slightly improved.

Completely different.

Better.

And here’s the part that still gets me…

The dream that came back wasn’t new.
It was something I had buried years earlier after disappointment, stress, and real-life responsibilities pushed it out.

I had already made peace with the fact that it just wasn’t meant to be.
