dump-the-frump-styling-series-for-sah-&-homeschool-mom’s

I’m so excited to finally be doing a dump-the-frump-styling-series-for-sah-&-homeschool-mom’s! I think one of the reason’s I’m excited about this is because I NEED this series right now! I believe styling for us wives and mothers is just as important for us now as it was when we were single, maybe even more so!

Why dump the Frump Styling Series for-SAH & Homeschool Mom’s?

We all know it’s a blessing to ourselves and our husbands when we put a little effort into our appearance. But when you think about it, not only are our husbands blessed when we take a few minutes to spiffy up, but our older kids are too.

I truly believe taking care of our appearance shows our family respect, as well as modules for our kids how to take care of their appearance. Another benefit to taking a few minutes in the morning on our appearance for the day means we don’t have to be embarrassed should someone pop in unexpectedly!

The Challenge

It’s not as easy done as it is said though. Being a stay at home mom (SAHM) and especially a homeschooling mom is hard, time consuming, and of course there are seasons that are particularly difficult, like the entire year after having a baby. I mean, who feels like caring about their appearance when they are sleep deprived and will probably be pooped or spit up on within the hour anyway, right?

Believe me, I get it! I truly do! In 2018 I went through not only welcoming a new baby, but just 8 weeks after that a major life changing move, and then jumped into homeschooling. It was so intense and took such a toll that my body crashed and in 2019 I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism.

Through it all I certainly didn’t feel like I had any extra time, energy and definitely no desire to devote to my appearance. For the first time in pretty much ever I would leave the house with not a spot of make up on. That was big for me!

Although it was wonderfully liberating and I’m glad to know I can leave home without makeup, eventually I was ready to start getting my style back, which is why I’m excited about this series!

How about you? Are you in a place where you’ve left style in the dust? Or maybe you never really felt like you had a great style to begin with?

Topics Covered In This Series

I’m so glad you are here because I’m confident I can help! I’ve loved studying style & beauty for years, here are some of the topics you’ll find in this series;

First Tip

To start with, there’s a book that I want you to get. Of all of the beauty articles I’ve ever read, all the courses I’ve seen and/or taken, out of everything there is one book that hands down beats them ALL.

It doesn’t matter your age, your favorite styles to wear, your weight, this book will help you navigate and find the best colors and looks for you. I found this book years ago, after my first couple years of being a mom. I remember it vividly.

I walked into the bathroom one morning, looked in the mirror, and thought to myself “Dang girl-you’ve never looked so DRAB!” I was in my latter 20’s and realized that so much of my clothing, makeup, and even hair that suited me just 6 years prior was not only dated but just didn’t look right on my new mom body.

Being the research nerd I am I went to the bookstore (yep-the bookstore!) and started looking for books to guide me through how to better my look.

You might be laughing at me now, wondering why I went to the bookstore of all places. Don’t laugh too hard! Ladies, I scored this book that has probably saved me $100’s of dollars, not only transformed my look, but has also proved invaluable as my body changes and ages (ooh, a rhyme! Can you tell I teach elementary kids?!?!).

I find that every few years when I’m starting to feel drab again, by returning to this one book helps me resurface with a polished, age appropriate look again.

Here’s the really fun part, Ladies, you can even use this book for your husband and kids. I use some of the charts when I’m buying clothes for my family all the time. I love that it helps me to keep my family looking their very best too!

So to begin with I want you to get this book. You can find it anywhere most likely, but here is my affiliate link. If you use this link I’ll receive a small commission which would make me squeal with glee and bless my family (I did it again, I know, I could have been a poet).
