As we kick off what is one of the most busy times of year for so many of us women, I want to answer the top question I get asked in my personal life and on both my channels, (Homeschooling With Shayla & Mountain Mama’s Home). The top question has to do with how to be productive as a homemaker, homeschooler, and homesteader.

Well, two things. First of all, one of the top secrets I have is I’ve learned the power of saying, “No” to things that are not most important so that I can say “Yes” to the things that are the most important.

I firmly believe and have experienced that when a woman chooses to be a Christian home educating mother and/or homemaker, that she is taking on a most important and a heavy ministry of which there is sadly, very little support for.

I’ve also learned that when she makes this choice, the potential she has to make a difference eternally in her children, and in this world through her children, becomes so significant that it immediately places her in the enemy’s target area.

This is why it is so important to learn to say “no”. Learning to say “no” was the first step towards having the time to be truly effective and productive at what was and is most important to me!

That isn’t all though. The second secret I mentioned is that, I don’t do it all!
