What People Are Saying

From Kara,

Before taking this course my life and everything in it felt chaotic. I would become quickly overwhelmed stuck in a freeze state…
…This program has drastically changed how I view homemaking. I wasn’t living in the present. I was more living in the expectation of how I used to be, before I became a mother I was physically abled. As my body and tolerances have changed throughout my life I felt like I was losing myself. I wasn’t adjusting to how my own life was changing, also, I was dealing with an abusive mother and her pressuring me to live up to her expectations. So, not being able focus on my motherhood has caused many issues in our household. Shayla mentioning that God has made parents guardians of their own child strongly impacted how I should be living out my vocation as a mother. My husband and I are the team, outsiders are not to be seen as equals to use in regards to our marriage and parenting. This really is huge…
…Shayla is well informed about this subject and all the information is sound and honest. I have done my own due diligence by educating myself on trauma, abuse, associated behaviors of abuse, and neurodivergence. She explains things beautifully, simply, and accurately. Regardless of me being familiar with the content she explained things in a way that I could apply tips to my own life and homemaking. She shares personal stories that helped me feel like she understood me, my past, my life, my family. Let me put it this way, Shayla knows her stuff. I loved this program and when I need a little support I can turn the videos on and revisit the information. It was so helpful!

“You spoke with authority but compassion. The fact that you used both biblical and scientific facts to back up what you’re saying gives so much weight to the information provided. The thoughts and ideas presented were clear and concise, and provided both encouragement to those who are struggling and healing to those who wrestle with the mistakes they made in the past.  The fact that you give tangible examples and instructions on how to implement change makes the course so much more valuable than other courses out there.”

“How freeing it is to know that I’m not broken. I learned so much, but mostly that I wasn’t standing in my own way, I was unknowingly triggering myself daily. There’s a lot of power in knowing that. Shayla shares practical tips, spiritually backed that will help you start the journey of healing. Shayla put into a nutshell what 20 years of counseling on and off hasn’t been able to do. Now I feel ready to do the work.

Raven's Story

“I was overwhelmed and chaotic. Now I’m giving myself permission for rest… I never used the words ‘keeper of the home’ — it felt like slavery. Now it means something entirely different
~Raven

Heather's Story

Before Beauty for Ashes, Heather felt like everything had fallen apart — and the guilt was crushing. She had tried well-known homemaking systems and strict schedules, but none worked, leaving her believing something was wrong with her.

From the very first lesson, that belief was challenged.

“It’s not failure, it’s information.”
“It’s not a character flaw.”

Those truths helped Heather understand that her struggles weren’t moral or spiritual failures — they were deeper, contextual, and understandable.

Since taking the course, Heather says she has hope again. She believes she can find a rhythm that works for her, even if it looks different from others — and she knows she’s not broken in God’s eyes.

Her days now feel hopeful, and her heart is finally at peace with herself.

What If Your Home Could Actually Support Your Healing?

Imagine waking up to:

  •  A home with predictable rhythms that calm your nervous system instead of triggering it

  • Simple, sustainable systems that work even on dysregulated days

  • A family vision that honors your neurotype—ADHD, CPTSD, HSP, or chronic overwhelm

  • The freedom to parent without repeating trauma patterns

  • A marriage protected from the weight of constant overwhelm

  •  Biblical boundaries that guard your peace without guilt

  •  An identity rooted in Christ, not your productivity

This isn’t a fantasy.

Beauty From Ashes

A Mini-Course for the Overwhelmed Homemaker

Find healing, hope, and sustainable rhythms—even in the middle of chaos

You're Not Broken. You're Overwhelmed

You wake up exhausted before the day even begins. The laundry pile feels like a mountain. The noise feels unbearable. The mess feels suffocating. And somewhere deep inside, a voice whispers: “Everyone else can handle this. Why can’t I?”

But here’s the truth no one tells you:

You're not failing because you lack discipline. You're struggling because your nervous system is overloaded.

If you have ADHD, PTSD, C-PTSD, anxiety, or chronic mental overwhelm—your brain and body are working overtime just to survive. And traditional homemaking advice? It wasn’t built for you.

✨ Recognize the trauma patterns that derail your days
✨ Release the shame and perfectionism keeping you stuck
✨ Build simple, gentle rhythms that support your nervous system

It helps you:

  • Understand your patterns
  • Release shame
  • Ground your identity in Christ
  • Build nervous system awareness
  • Create space for healing

What Makes Beauty From Ashes Different?

❌ Most Homemaking Advice Says:

  • “Just make a schedule and stick to it”
  • “You need more discipline”
  • “If you were more organized, you’d be fine”
  • “Try this productivity hack”

✅ Beauty From Ashes Says:

  • Your nervous system needs support, not shame
  • Your brain works differently—and that’s okay
  • Trauma is real and affects your daily life
  • Healing comes first, then sustainable systems
  • God sees you, knows you, and is not disappointed

This is homemaking for women who are healing—not performing.

Meet Your Instructor

Hello! I’m Shayla, but if you like you can just call me, “Mountain Mama.”

I know what it feels like to be stretched far beyond your capacity.
There was a season when I was homeschooling multiple kids with a newborn on my hip, trying to keep a busy home running, cooking from scratch, and carrying the weight of CPTSD and ADHD— all while silently wondering why I couldn’t “this felt like too much.”

Even as a second-generation homemaker with years of experience and skill, homemaking plus motherhood and all the things I was dealing with had left me drowning. My health was slipping, my energy was gone, and every night I lay in bed feeling like I had failed someone… or everyone.

But God met me there.
Through prayer, trial, error, and humility, He helped me rebuild my home with simple, intentional systems that changed everything. These rhythms brought peace back into our days, turned our home into a nurturing place of healing, and even gave me the margin to run a part-time business without losing myself or my family in the process.

Now, with over 30 years of hands-on homemaking and more than 20 years of 24/7 motherhood, I’ve walked countless women through the same journey — from chaos to calm, from exhaustion to confidence, from tearful surviving to truly thriving.

Because Proverbs 14:1 reminds us:
“The wise woman builds her house…”
— and wise doesn’t mean perfect. It means teachable. Intentional. Willing to begin again with God’s help.

So whether you’re teaching phonics, feeding sourdough, battling clutter in a home that is far from dreamy, or fighting ADHD or soul fatigue from generational trauma… hear me:
You aren’t alone. And you’re not failing.
Your work matters. Your home matters. You matter.

Let’s walk this path together — with grace, with purpose, and for the glory of God.

Welcome home, Sweet Homemaker.

With Love,
Shayla, aka, Mountain Mama
